    Christmas for Cruisers

Pot luck table with Starry Horizons, Ecco, and Amy in the Urban Sombrero

Merry Christmas everyone! This anchorage is getting pretty full. Some of the catamaran skippers remind me of those guys in back in high school with pickup trucks that drive through the yard to park their trucks at the front door of a party so they could sit on the tail gate and have the party come to them. In the case of catamarans, they like to get right up on the beach and dare the wind to shift. The Renegade crew has been enjoying the holiday festivities here off Stocking Island. On Christmas Eve we were invited to a traditional Danish meal of braised pork, red cabbage and potatoes with our new friends aboard S/V Tivoli. On Christmas morning Mr. & Mrs. Claus stopped by the boat and delivered a present! Today the Chat-N-Chill was closed for Christmas but the owner KB allowed cruisers to use his tables on the beach for a Pot Luck Christmas Lunch. There were a lot of crews and we separated the tables widely for social distancing. As with all sailor pot lucks the food was excellent and there was plenty to go around. We sat at a table with the crews of the catamarans Rolling Stones, Ecco, and Starry Horizons. Starry Horizons recently finished their world circumnavigation and it was fun to hear some of their sea stories. Hopefully we will get a wind shift in the next few days so we can get back out to some other islands.

Happy to see we made Santa’s nice list
