Coco Point, Barbuda

A neat Swan 65 leaving Coco Point

On the fifth we motored from Low Bay south to Coco Point. Coco Point is a beautiful anchorage with clear water and a white sandy beach. Unlike Low Bay it is not rolly. After anchoring, for the third time in the Caribbean, we saw Adrenaline from the Tula’s Endless Summer YouTube channel pass by. Before Irma the anchorage apparently had a small hotel sometimes open to cruisers. The property is now selling private lots for an upscale home community. It currently has some temporary buildings and several beach toys for the property owners to enjoy while their homes are built. We did not see any completed homes. Owners come in by a seaplane and believe it or not, a launch with retractable tracks on it picks them up from the plane and then rolls 60 feet up the beach and drops them off. We have been doing some snorkeling, walking the beach, and watching the huge population of Green Sea Turtles. There have not been many boats in the anchorage until today. The weather window is looking good for a sail to the East side of Antigua and stop at Falmouth Harbor tomorrow.
