On 12/1 we left Norman for Peter Island. First we checked out Little Harbor but it was full of anchored catamarans with their sterns tied to the shore and no room for us. We then went next door to Great Harbor. Great Harbor is deep with a small shallower anchoring area that had enough boats so we took a mooring in the back center. We enjoyed snorkeling a steep underwater wall near the boat with interesting rock formations and fish. The restaurant in the harbor, Oceans 7, had reopened for business but we did not check it out. On 12/3 we crossed the channel to Nanny Cay Marina.
Renegade has a tricolor mast light that includes an anchor light. A few days earlier, the anchor light started cutting in and out in the swells and sometimes went dark. You do not want to risk being not being seen at anchor. The light was still under warranty so we made arrangements to have a new one sent to Nanny Cay so we could swap it out. After the swap out the technicians from Nanny Cay Electronics could not get the new one to turn on and reattached the old. However, after bench testing the new it was determined that it had a sensor that turned off the lights in daylight if the power was on to save energy. So, the following morning, it was back up the mast again to swap out to new. Jim also found a glass and mirror shop to replace the mirror on the medicine cabinet that flew open and broke during the Caribbean 1500. We are fixing a few more items and expect to be here until Tuesday. We are trying to decide to go to USVI or Antigua (with a stop at St. Eustatius if the weather allows). Any opinions on where we should go next?

There is always something to fix on a boat. Big complex boat like that is going to keep you real busy. .
Yes, much more to do than a house for sure
St. Eustatius (Statia) is an interesting place. Small island with lots of history. Way back in time it was a “free” port, and was the first place to recognize the US as an independent country…….If my memory is correct. Also, good diving there. We went with Golden Rock Dive Center. You can also take a hike up the volcano and check out the rain forest inside the crater.
Thanks Dave. Saba that you have also visited may be a stop as well.
Have you been to Saba? Not much anchorage as far as I know, and one very small harbor. You can hike to the top of the mountain. And do drink the Saba Spice !
Yes, you must go in a low wind window and use the moorings in deep water
