On the 16th the winds finally settled down and we we moved back over to the harbor entrance to make water. The center harbor water did not seem to circulate as much with the ocean and was not as clear. We also set up the hookah and cleaned the bottom. With the lower velocity wind we are seeing a lot of boat movement in and out. Many of the cruising boats have taken off to their next ports of call. Amy’s sister Jill and husband Scott are vacationing ashore in Falmouth Harbor next week so we will be hanging out a little longer. Antigua is moving into their racing season so all the J class yachts are assembling here. The stunningly beautiful Hanuman came down the channel by us this morning. The large motor yachts spend the winter season here, St. Martin, and St. Barts then go back to the Mediterranean for hurricane season. Large sailing yachts have a racing circuit between islands in the winter before they go back to the Med.
On the last post we reviewed our dinghy bridle sourcing project. Jim never heard back from Mr. A so he dropped by the shop today to find out the price. Mr. A became very angry Jim came in but wrote down the price (very reasonable) on paper and said we are on for 5:00 to meet at the dinghy dock. After obtaining the correct amount of cash we later set off for the exchange. Jim had a flashback of the time he went as backup with his friend Mike carrying an aluminum briefcase of cash to get his Corvette out of a back alley body shop in Atlanta. The exchange went as scheduled and the result is a bridle that is a piece of art with chafe guards included as an extra. This bridle is so overbuilt it could easily lift a J/24. On to the next project.

Yacht-life is way better than back-alley thug-life, I can tell you that.
Hey Mike, lots of kid boats out here home schooling if you want to give it a try. The back alley life while yachting is only if you need to obtain a dinghy bridle.
Glad the exchange went well. Best to keep it on the down low. Where to next ?
We are looking at Guadeloupe as the next call
