Yes, no sailing, we are still in Jolly Harbour under the 24 hour curfew. We received some great news this week when the government lengthened the store openings from 7 to noon to 6 to 6. No more two hour lines in the sun, yeah! The last of the Covid-19 cases on island are about cured so the government is discussing its next steps to open the airport but no decision is expected this week. Social distancing, closed beaches, coast guard permission to move, and the use of masks is still in force. Many of the cruisers around here are holding out to go to Trinidad or Grenada for the hurricane season but those governments have not discussed an opening timeline for yachts so far. We have decided on the 10th as our target departure date from the USVI in the Salty Dawg Flotilla to the US. We will be taking the southern route back going up the Old Bahama Channel. We will check out here and sail overnight to USVI sometime next week. We will not be allowed to go ashore in the USVI when we get there because of the 14 day quarantine, so we are stocking up for almost a month at sea. We tackle a few projects and routine chores each day in preparation of our departure. That’s it for now – we hope everyone is staying safe.
