We have been enjoying organized rally activities and catching up with boat chores since arriving in Nanny Cay. Every night the rally hosts a social event and organize daily activities. Amy and Tracy went on a group tour of Tortola on the 15th. The Quantum sail loft is located at the marina and repaired the main in one day. The bearings in one of the mainsheet blocks shattered during the trip and Jim was able to find a replacement at a rigging shop down the road. Jim also had his first haircut outside of the USA. The rally wrapped up on the 16th with a passage debrief in the afternoon and an awards ceremony in the evening. In the debrief we learned that due to low numbers, this might be the last Caribbean 1500 Rally. The World Cruising Club is a business running several rallies around the world and this rally has suffered a loss of boats to the competing Salty Dawg Rally. Our rally was won on corrected time by Freewill. Manned by a group of fellow one design dinghy sailors, they more that deserved the win since they hand steered, turned off systems to conserve power, and found a near perfect route through the weather system weaving through the fleet.
