Annapolis and Inland

Out of the water

On the 2nd we left Solomons for Annapolis. The wind was under five knots from the south so we motored. In preparation for the haul out we filled all the diesel tanks and backed into the lift well for the first haul the following morning. The yard was very busy launching boats for the Annapolis to Newport race. This is the first time we have had prolonged land storage so we completed a number of tasks such as emptying the refrigerator and freezer, removing most of the food staples with exception of the canned goods, adding bio preventative to the diesel tanks, emptying the water tanks, vacuum packing the bedding, spraying all surfaces with vinegar, and pickling the watermaker . We continued our storage jobs after the boat was on the hard. Our good friends Buddy and Renee were in Annapolis outfitting their beautiful new Passport 545 Saucy Fox and generously offered to let us stay aboard after the haul a few nights. Passports are still in production and have some of the finest construction you will find. On the 5th we loaded our rental vehicle and were off to the heartland of Indiana. I will review some Renegade’s project list while out of the water in future posts.
