We are still in Annapolis as boom repair progresses. There are two finish options on LeisureFurl booms: an exposed hardware version and a fancy one with the fittings faired over smooth and painted. We have the fancy one which set the original owner back an additional $7k. This means additional work because in the process of putting in new welds, sections of filler are melted and pop off. New two part filler must be applied and sanded before painting. Currently we are on track to get the boom back Friday 7/24. There is not much to report from the yard, other than boats come and go every day and it has been very hot. We will take that any day because if we had stayed in southern Caribbean we would have had limited options in dealing with the soon to be hurricane Gonzalo!
