Going North?

Amy prepares some granola bars for the trip

Jimmy Buffet was once asked by a reporter which direction his music was going. His one word answer: South. So to answer the question above, we are going north to meet visitors in both Antigua and St. Kitts in a few weeks and also visit some of the islands we skipped. Our sail to Antigua should take approximately 30 hours. The weather is showing a reach with lighter winds and 1.5 meter seas. Our only concerns are the low and mixed velocity winds we see behind islands and not seeing those pesky lobster trap floats at night. We thought about going on the windward side on two of the islands but the PredictWind models all say to go on the west side for now. If the wind is not good at sunset, we will anchor in north Martinique and continue in the morning. Amy has been doing some prep of delicious passage meals and Jim has cleaned the deck, filled the water tanks, greased fittings, and attached the jacklines. We have to wait for both Customs & Immigration and the Marina to open tomorrow to check out. We hope be out of the harbor by 10:00 where we will say a bittersweet goodbye to the world of water hoses, shore power, and WiFi.

All models align on same route showing light winds

The good news is we do not have to paddle.
