Lime Out, a floating taco and merchandise bar

We found a spot to anchor out of the big winds and swell but like all locations behind mountains, you get a lot of puffs with big swings. We closely monitored the anchor overnight because we were all over the place, but the swell was minimal. Around 10 AM a green raft appeared and prepared for business. This raft turned out to be a floating taco stand named Lime Out. We know we are back in the land of free enterprise when visionaries float this kind of business. Around 11:15 a small navy of tourists with rented kayaks started making their way to the stand. We went over in the dinghy and were politely instructed to tie up and jump out. There were several bar stools in the water and inflatable lounges. As patrons fell out of their kayaks, with some barely able to swim, staff jumped in and helped them get on a lounge. Tour boats also came by dumping more visitors in the water. We ate our tacos in the middle of a big downpour and decided to escape as more soles from the beach swam up grasping for safety like shipwrecked crew. As a former finance & retail guy, Jim was fascinated by the business model in that the big payoff to the bottom line appeared to be its merchandise. Almost everyone was buying a $45 cup , $30 cap, or $35 t-shirt. The social media presence (aka free advertising) was staggering in that 90% of the patrons seemed to be recording their visit on go-pros or phones as drones buzzed overhead. If the weather allows we plan to go to Red Hook tomorrow to top off the diesel and back to Cruz Bay to get some supplies and check out.

Always interesting anchoring near mountains
