The wind was under 5 knots this morning so we motor sailed on a beam reach to the North Sound of Virgin Gorda. We cruised past Prickly Pear Island, Saba Rock, and BEYC. All three are still closed after Irma and their mooring balls appear decommissioned. We anchored to the south of Mosquito Island but the wind drove us in circles so we looked for a better spot. We hopped over to Leverick Bay and anchored in 15 feet of sand outside of the mooring field. Why pay $30 for a mooring ball when you have good ground tackle, right? The quantity of power cats we see to sailboats is still pretty high. We turned on the generator for the first time in the Caribbean to make some water and run the washing machine. Later in the day rally friend Chris from SV Tala drove by to say hello also taking a tour of the sound.
We have a story for those wondering how we are are connected to the internet to load the blog. A few days ago Jim took a taxi to Road Town to purchase a data sim card at Digicel. He was there around an hour when Digicel told him the card had to be activated at their HQ and the person that does it is in a meeting. Jim said he could wait. After a half hour the service rep told Jim the person may never come out of the meeting and he would be better off leaving. Jim then walked down the street to CCT and purchased a data card there after standing in line for an hour. A snippet of life on island time but still probably better than dealing with Comcast in the US.

Looks very inviting.
When is Jim going to start fishing? Both of his grandfathers were avid fishermen so he has a tradition to uphold.
I will give fishing a try trolling between islands in light conditions. The dinghy is on the davits now and I need to figure out how to land the big catch. Jim
