Cooper Island

Amy on turtle and goat watch

Today’s travels bring us to Cooper Island after Jim completed oil, filter, transmission fluid and impeller change along with a big refuel at Nanny Cay. This is the first time we have been able to swim in the Caribbean since arriving. Due to the current, Cooper has always had the best underwater viability from our recollections. Several turtles are spotted. We take advantage of the clear water to scrub the bottom and change the zincs. We are watching tropical storm Sebastien and are happy the rally left last week.

We have been making some observations since we were last here in 2011. Strangely, a third of the charter boats out now are power cats. The effects of Hurricane Irma are still present and effect the islanders daily. Prices are much higher for almost everything. We are planning to move on to North Sound tomorrow.
