On Monday 21st we departed Annapolis to Gloucester Point, Virginia, the starting point for the World Cruising Club Caribbean 1500 Rally. We left Annapolis around 4 PM and arrived at York River Yacht Haven around noon on Tuesday. The wind and tide turned against us as night fell so the engine powered us south vs. our sails. we encountered quite a bit of traffic in transit with tugs out of the channel and ships in. York River Yacht Haven’s entrance channel is shallow and we passed through a few minutes after low tide so we have no concerns when we depart.
The marina is our final US address to stock up on parts and provisions so every day brings us some new Amazon deliveries. On the 24th we went to the fuel dock and filled all three tanks for the big passage.
