We have several project items to complete from our ocean shakedown before departing to the Caribbean. Many of these projects are warranty related so we scheduled time with our service vendors in Annapolis. A good weather window was forecast so we made the trip with no stop overs. We had a close reach at the bottom of the bay sending us along at 8 knots until the wind turned on our nose then died, so the night sail turned in to motoring. As darkness fell we dodged ships, storms, fog, and cold. We knew we got that new foul weather gear for something! We were entering Annapolis Harbor at sunrise when the wildest event occurred. We had just left a thick fog bank in the bay; but a new bank enveloped the harbor before our eyes covering all channel marks and anchored boats. Jim spun around to see if it was blowing through but the fog hung in there so we went back in at idle speed listening for boats coming out. We found a spot in the anchor field and set the hook. Shortly after anchoring the bank lifted and we could see all the harbor activity of the last day of the boat show.
