Jim and Amy met in 1997 and married in 2000. Amy caught the sailing bug during their destination wedding at Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda, BVI. Jim had been a lifelong sailor and upon returning home eagerly looked for a way to pursue their new shared interest. They joined the Atlanta Yacht Club and quickly jumped into Thistle class one-design racing. Over the years they have raced locally, been road warriors traveling to compete in many regattas, and trekked south to lower latitudes on a string of annual bareboat charters throughout the Eastern Caribbean.
In 2018 they sold their house, got rid of most their “stuff”, sold their beloved Thistle, purchased Renegade and began a one year refit to prepare her for liveaboard world wide travel. In June 2019 they moved aboard and the great adventure began…
